Background[edit | edit source]
Energetic and dedicated, Nikels is a naturally gifted Mender willing to help any way he can. Under the tutelage of ValkaZefr, Nikels is learning more about the world on their travels than he ever did in the Tower of Manaharr.
Active Ability: Mend[edit | edit source]
- Nikels starts with Mend at Rank 2, as his starting Hero Rank is 3.
Menders are able to quickly Mend on the field of battle, restoring the Armor of any ally anywhere on the battlefield. The amount of Armor restored is half of the Mender's current Willpower (WP) rounded down.
Rank 1: Armor restored is (WP+0)/2, rounded down.
Rank 2: Armor restored is (WP+1)/2, rounded down.
Rank 3: Armor restored is (WP+2)/2, rounded down.

Joining the Party[edit | edit source]
The Banner Saga 2 Walkthrough
Nikels always joins the Ravens caravan in Chapter 11.
Possible Deaths or Departures[edit | edit source]
Nikels sacrifices himself (at Zefr's 'request') in the Bindal mines so that the Ravens can escape Eyeless, during Chapter 11. However, that is not the last we see of him (spoiler).
Playstyle[edit | edit source]
- Nikels can be considered as the basic Mender class unit of the game. He is far weaker than Zefr or Eyvind, has only one active ability (Mend), no passive and cannot be promoted beyond Hero Rank 5 in order to earn a second active.
- Calculating restored Armor when casting Mend may be difficult, partly because the ability description in the Heroes tent is vague. The following table shows the Armor restored for all ranks of the ability, given the mender's Willpower when Mend is cast. It is advisable to draw any unneeded Willpower from the Horn, before casting Mend.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Nikels holds Bolverk in great admiration and fancies joining the Ravens.

The Banner Saga 2 is a tactical role-playingvideo game developed by Stoic Studio and published by Versus Evil. It is the sequel to The Banner Saga, and the second part of a trilogy of games.
A crowdfunding campaign for the third game in the series concluded on March 7, 2017, with 8,086 backers raising $416,986 of its $200,000 goal.[1] A sequel concluding the trilogy, The Banner Saga 3, was released in July 2018.
Gameplay[edit]
The Banner Saga 2 builds on The Banner Saga's turn-based combat, adding depth with the introduction of new units, new talents, new enemies, interactive objects, and new objectives. It also introduces The Horseborn, a centaur-like race. Several heroes from the original return as playable characters, and many of the choices made in the first game have a direct impact in the second.
The Banner Saga 2 Walkthrough
In a 2015 interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, Stoic's writer Drew McGee noted that combat in the first game was often criticized as slow and lacking in diversity.[2] The development team therefore prioritized creating new enemies and enemy types for players to face, giving them new abilities and buffs while also adding more win scenarios and variations in combat. The range and scope of choices available to the players - both in combat and in the overall narrative - has also been expanded.
Development[edit]
The Banner Saga 2 is developed by three-man indie development team Stoic.[3] The game was announced at The Game Awards on December 5, 2014.[4] Initially, the game was scheduled to be released for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2015.[3] However it was later delayed into 2016.[5] Windows and OS X versions were released on April 19, 2016, and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in July 2016.[6][7]
